Shoop is a personal shopping studio. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we will never do.
The short version
We collect the minimum needed to run your studio: your email, your sign-in identity, and the things you choose to save. We use no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking. We never sell your data. We earn money through affiliate commissions when you choose to buy something you saved — not from your information.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address and an authentication identifier when you sign in with Apple, Google, or an email magic link. If you use Sign in with Apple's private relay, we only see the relay address.
Your content. Product URLs you save, images associated with those saves, screenshots you upload for image search, notes, tags, Sets, Styles, and List items. This content exists so the app can function — it is yours.
Nothing else. We do not request access to your camera, location, contacts, or microphone. We do not use device fingerprinting. We do not collect browsing history outside of the URLs you explicitly save.
How your data is processed
Storage. Your account and content are stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security — your data is only readable by your authenticated account.
Link imports. When you save a URL, our scraping service receives the URL only — never your identity, session token, or device identifier — and returns product details. We do not log these URLs server-side.
Image search. When you upload a screenshot to find a product, the image is sent to Google Cloud Vision to identify visually similar products. The image is processed for that search and is not used to identify people.
Affiliate links. When you tap out to a retailer from Shoop, we may append an affiliate parameter to the outbound link so we earn a commission if you purchase. The retailer and affiliate network (such as Rakuten or Impact) may set their own cookies under their own policies. We only store the clean, original URL.
What we never do
Sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing
Run advertising or analytics SDKs in the app
Build advertising profiles or track you across other apps and websites
Share your saves, Sets, or Styles with anyone unless you explicitly share them
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Menu → Delete Account). Deletion is immediate and permanent: all saves, Sets, Styles, List items, and account records are hard-deleted with no orphaned copies retained.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, and California), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Deletion and access are available directly in the app; for anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Shoop is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will note the new effective date here and inform you in the app.
